City Park: APH Holding commences drilling and EOI construction discussions

APH Holding is pleased to announce drilling has begun on site for the multi-billion dollar visionary City Park development, at the corner of Burwood Hwy and Springvale Rd.

Alongside the drilling, APH Holding is commencing the initial Expression of Interest (EOI) tender process to appoint a builder will begin before Christmas, with the geo-tech testing already underway, and major earthworks scheduled early next year.

Ryan Smith, Director of Corporate Strategy for APH says:
“We foresee strong interest from the construction sector to be a part of City Park. This project presents as a long-term project over multiple stages that will ensure enormous growth for the eastern corridor.

We invite innovative and experienced builders to become our partners on this legacy project that will enrich the community and make City Park a sought-after destination for our community, City Park is not just a development; it’s a promise of creating a vibrant hub within Melbourne’s eastern corridor – a place to work, live, play and experience.”

The Expression of Interest tender will demonstrate a robust selection process to identify partners whose vision aligns with the project’s goals. APH Holding is keen to engage potential builders who are excited to deliver on the project’s vision and expectations.

City Park is receiving numerous Expressions of Interest from commercial retailers, particularly since the announcement that this sought-after site at the corner of Burwood Highway and Springvale Road will be anchored by Woolworths. This has been seen as a vote of confidence in a retail site that is passed by 70,000 motorists each day.

The stage is set for a diverse mix of exciting experience retail, entertainment, food and beverage to become part of this iconic development. At City Park, nearly 5,000 Victorians are already on site, working at iconic organisations such as Hewlett Packard, Pronto Software, Eastern Health, Bolton Clarke and NEC, and that number is set to double as City Park becomes a major innovation employment hub for the area.

City Park will ultimately be an exciting mixed use destination for the many people who will visit with the final project including experience retail, entertainment, health, wellness offerings and services, as well as a planned convention centre and hotel. As City Park’s Masterplan is developed, the realisation of gross floor area (GFA) will well exceed 250,000 sqm.

The release of the Victorian government’s Housing Statement means that there are increased opportunities for City Park to be a welcoming home for thousands of singles, couples and families, with the site able to accommodate over a few thousand dwellings in new residential towers under planning.
